If the coming soon refreshed 13" MBA gets a 13" 2880x1800 HiDPI/Retina display, Sandy Bridge and Lion preinstalled... It will be so win. And PC guys will be stuck with their legacy 1280x800 haha.

I would be fine continuing to pay for it if they would actually make it work better and improve some of the feature set. If they make it free, my concern is they will strip down some of the services related to it or allow it to become even slower and less reliable. Apple doesn't need another "hobby" (See: TV, Apple).

I think the black MacBook is sort of the Pro version of the MacBook. I expect the MBP and Black MacBook to receive top of the line Merom processors. The white MacBook will stick with the older yonah and receive a price drop to $999 at the bottom end.

I'm surprised it's taken this long, to be honest: I've thought for a long time that Samsung's phones in particular are pretty much a blatant rip-off of Apple's industrial design and user interface.
HTC have shown that they can produce an innovative and different interface with their Sense UI, but Samsung seem to just want to rip-off Apples look and feel

You do realize this is lower than the US actual suicide rate of 11 per-100K per-year.

And I think Foxconn actually had around 800,000 employees at the time, 300,000 of which were at one factory.

As I have always known it, the standard configuration gives you a 14 day return policy, full refund, or 15% restocking fee if it is opened. A BTO machine is considered an "Opened" machine by apple, since they take the standard configuration and change it. So if you buy a BTO machine, you can return it, but you will be subject to the 15% restocking fee. Just take it back to an apple store, show your receipt, and it should be fine.

If apple is looking for a way to fend off android then this may be part of the strategy. Mac.com is what makes my iThings work. If it was not for the sync OTA, then I very well may have been on another phone by now. Can't tell you how many times that it has saved me ass.

I've had mine since November, generally use it in the horizontal position, and haven't had problems with it rattling (and I've got a car with a not-very-smooth-ride). That would suggest that the mechanism is not always loose. I am nervous about it wearing loose over time, because it is surprisingly easy to move by hand, and seems kind of delicate.

In the landscape view, my unit does not rattle, but in the vertical position it rattles a lot and I often keep it like this to charge the phone or listen to music, etc when I'm not using the nav app. I'm going to exchange it and see how I fair while waiting to see what the word on the Magellan kit is. Thanks for your help.

Hopefully they release it with Cingular. I've always had wonky connections with Cingular though, maybe it's my phone. Ironically, I've noticed that the signal is the worst inside the mall - next to the Apple store. :p

I would hazard a guess that the thinner facade suggests a lack of optical media drives, or if it does have one, a vertical slot-loader. But I think what with flash drive or Internet distribution, optical media drives aren't really needed any more, even on a Pro machine.

Non iPhone market: free phones and $50 dollar phones
iPhone competitors: $200 phones: HTC Evo, Droid Incredible, etc..
I'd like to see a breakdown of Android by these metrics.
Take all the MetroPCS and Free junk out of the stats and lets see whose premium offerings are reigning supreme.
We can take out the 3GS to make everything "equal".
